How do I play?
Drag pieces from the tray onto the 8×8 board. Fill a whole row or column to clear it. Clear lines in a row to build a combo. The game ends when none of your pieces fit.
What is the magic orb?
Clearing lines fills the orb on the top left. When it's full, tap it to choose a spell: Bomb clears a 3×3 area, Zap clears a row and column, and Reroll gives you new pieces.
How do streaks work?
Play the Daily Challenge on consecutive days to build a streak. You get one streak freeze per week, which saves your streak if you miss a single day. Streak milestones pay out gems.
How do Blitz leagues work?
Blitz gives you two minutes, and every line you clear adds time. Your best Blitz score of the week sets your league, from Bronze to Legend. When a new week starts (Monday), you receive gems for the league you reached.
How do I play Versus?
Open the menu and choose Versus. On a phone, lay it flat between two players. On an unfolded iPhone Duo held sideways, the boards sit side by side. Clearing two or more lines at once drops junk blocks on your opponent. A set is first to 3 wins.
What is the Block Reverse card?
During a Versus match a Block Reverse card pops up on both boards. Whoever taps it first keeps it (it shows in the corner of their board). Tap it whenever you like to swap your pieces with your opponent's. Your opponent gets a moment to tap NOPE! and block it. If they're too slow, the hands swap. If the new pieces don't fit anywhere, that player is out.
What is Shake Up?
A bonus stage that some big combos trigger, taking turns with Gem Rain. For nine seconds, tilt your iPhone to aim and shake it: every block slides to that side. Full lines clear and each line pays a gem. You get six shakes. You can also swipe on the board instead of shaking.
How do I share a highlight clip?
After a game with a big clear or combo, tap Share highlight clip on the game-over card. Block Boy makes a short video of your best moment that you can save to Photos or share anywhere.
How do I get sticker packs?
You earn packs by scoring points across your games, by beating the Daily target, by ranking up and by clearing new Adventure levels, bosses and secret levels. Duplicate stickers turn into gems.
How does Brain Rush work?
Open the menu (•••) and choose Brain Rush. Swipe a row left or right, or a column up or down, to slide it like a Rubik's cube until the board matches the small picture. On tilt puzzles, swipe the whole board in one direction to slide every block and clear a line. Each solve adds time; Skip costs 5 seconds. With VoiceOver, use the Actions rotor to slide rows and columns.
How do ranks and trophies work?
Every game earns XP. Tap the rank badge at the top of the screen to see the Rank Road (rewards at every rank), your Trophy Case and your titles and board frames. After Rank 30 you earn Elite stars. Hidden trophies show a riddle until you find them. After two or more days away, your next three games earn double XP.
How do I open secret levels?
In Adventure, each world has five levels and a secret door. Get three stars on all five and the door opens on the Adventure map. Every fifth level is a boss level with bigger goals.
Can I watch the story again?
Yes: open Settings and tap Watch the Story.
How do I add the widget or wallpapers?
Touch and hold your Home Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget and search for Block Boy. For wallpapers, open the shop, choose Wallpapers, pick a world and tap Save Wallpaper.
Purchases
Purchases are optional, and everything can be earned by playing. If a purchase doesn't arrive, close and reopen the app; it's delivered as soon as the App Store confirms it. Bought the Starter Pack, Album Pass, World Tour Pack, Legend Pass or All Worlds Pass on another device? Open Settings in the game and tap Restore Purchases. Your first gem pack comes with double gems. For refunds, use reportaproblem.apple.com.
Languages
Block Boy speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), French, German, Italian, Turkish, Russian, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean and Simplified Chinese, and follows your iPhone's language. To pick a different language just for Block Boy, open the Settings app, tap Apps, then Block Boy, then Language.
Accessibility
With VoiceOver on, use the Actions rotor on the board to place pieces in the best spot. Colorblind symbols can be turned on in Settings. Block Boy respects Reduce Motion and your text size.
My progress
Progress is saved on your device automatically, even mid-game. Deleting the app deletes your progress.
